Qantas is set to launch free, high-speed Wi-Fi on its international flights as soon as next year as it works towards ultra long-haul trips.
It's welcome news for the airline which has been plagued with delays, cancellations, missing luggage, mechanical errors, turn backs and staffing problems post-pandemic.
The airline's chief executive, Alan Joyce, announced Qantas's plan to have Wi-Fi ready onboard international flights before it rolls out Project Sunrise services in late 2025.
Project Sunrise will carry out non-stop flights on 12 Airbus A350-1000s to destinations such as New York and London.
But Mr Joyce said on Tuesday that Wi-Fi access could arrive in 2024 depending on satellite coverage, reports The Australian.

'The great news is satellites have been launched and we think coverage will start appearing from 2024-25 onwards so we're looking at equipping Project Sunrise aircraft with high speed Wi-Fi,' he said.
